Howard Hesseman

Howard Hesseman

As “Don Sturdy”, actor and radio personality Howard Hesseman was a key member of the iconoclastic San Francisco improv troupe “The Committee” for ten years in the 60s and 70s. His role on television’s “WKRP in Cincinnati” (a fictional free-form station rumored to be modeled on KZAP in Sacramento) thrust him into the public consciousness as the furiously anti-establishment jock “Dr Johnny Fever”. A thoughtful man, and a gifted artist, Hesseman has publicly lived his life on and around the cultural barricades.
