Ben Fong-Torres

One of the most respected and celebrated figures in music journalism, Ben Fong-Torres began writing for Rolling Stone in 1968, for the magazine’s eighth issue. His interview for that magazine with Ray Charles won the Deems Taylor Award for Magazine Writing in 1974. Among his numerous credits are The Hits Just Keep on Coming, a history of Top 40 radio; The Doors By The Doors; Hickory Wind, a biography of Gram Parsons; and hundreds of articles on contemporary music and social issues. Fong-Torres was also a weekend DJ on KSAN from 1970 to 1979.
